Guidance For parents, Guardians and Students

Although we would like to trust all the tutors that are listed in our directory, we nonetheless offer the following guidelines to parents and students when selecting the services of a tutor. Please use these at your discretion.

Before commencing any form of tuition you should be able to arrange a non-obligatory meeting between yourself, the Tutor and the person they intend to tutor. This should be arranged at the Tutor's house or wherever the tuition is to take place. This should give you the opportunity to see if you both feel comfortable with the situation and that the tutor can deliver the service that you are requesting.

If tuition is to take place at the Tutor's home, then as a parent/guardian, you would expect to be able to sit in an adjacent room and wait whilst tuition takes place.

At the meeting you should ask the Tutor for copies of his/her qualifications, references and Police Checks. You should enquire about their current employment and past history of employment. If they are unwilling to show these details or do not appear to show any consideration or feelings about your concerns, then we would strongly advise you to seek another Tutor.
