Can anyone tell me the best way to revise for maths. I am doing C1, C2 in a few weeks time and starting to panic.

Just Practice. Do lots of past papers. That's what I've been doing.

Simple:

Do as many exam questions as you can get your hands on!

Go to http://www.examsolutions.co.uk/alevel/practicePapers/Edexcel.php and do as many C1 and C2 questions as you can. check using the model answers. if you get through all the papers then do them all again - this time they should take FAR less time, giving you confidence. see how close to 100% you can get the second time around.

What many people don't realise is that maths is a DOING subject...

Well, OK, there are a few freaks around who appear to be born with the knowledge of entire modules already imprinted in their brain, but for the vast majority of us there is only one option to ensure success: do loads and LOADS of exams questions, and you'll soon find you shoot up that learning curve faster than it first seemed possible.

and don't panic. If your only in your first year of A-levels, there'll be PLENTY of opportunities to resit, especially if you're taking a gap year before uni, so just stay cool, calm, and collected. This way you'll give yourself the best opportunity to perform at your best.

The day before i would not do anything too taxing on the brain. forget all about maths. pretend you're an artist who needs to go on walks for inspiration. see your friends. Watch a film. whatever relaxes you. get a good eight hours sleep whether you've done as much revision as you'd have liked to or not. also, eat loads of complex carbs like wheatabix or porridge for breakfast, even if you really don't feel like it.

In the exam room, try to relax and enjoy the challenge! Attempt the questions at a steady pace. Leave time at the end to go back to the ones you get stuck on, and to check every stage of your answers for silly mistakes.

good luck :-)
