Help with equations

I am trying to help my 14yr old daughter with her studies, this equation came up and we have so many different answers can someone please advise

(2x-y)(3x+4y)

Any help would be great

It sounds as if the question wanted you to expand this expression and simplify

(2x-y)(3x+4y)= (2x)(3x) + (2x)(4y) -(y)(3x)-y(4y)
=6x squared +8xy - 3xy - 4y squared
= 6x squared +5xy - 4y squared
