An integer is a whole number, positive or negative.

Surely though you want to know more than this.

Can you give more details of a question that you are stuck on.

If you are asked to find the factors of a number (integer) then you are looking for integers that divide exactly into it.

For example: the factors of 12 are 1,2,3,4,6,12 as these go into 12 a whole number of times.

2 goes into 12, 6 times and so on.

Multiples of a number (integer) are the values you get when the number is multiplied by 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc

so the multiples of 3 would be
3, 6, 9, 12, 15, etc

Hope that helps
