ok Im slightly confused how my teacher got this answer using this formula:

using the Sxy/√Sxx-Syy

4595-(142x130)/7 = 1029.28 }this section is the top part of the equation...
Im not sure how this equals to 1029.28
I keep getting: 1957.857

The sum of x (the first column is wrong) I make it 192

If you do the calculation again you should get r=0.94179....

Hope you can now get this answer.

thanks Katie..I must have copied the board wrongly...

when I put these into the equation the top part gets a negative number..
=-5333.636364...
is this right?..

oh sorry my mistake, again.

I got -5342.636..too
is it ok to get a minus though\?..
have i done a step wrongly?
