solve simultaneous equations with one linear & one quadratic?!... stuck on this whole topic!
y + x = 10
y = x + x + 11
please explain fully how 2 do ! exam on monday, quick reply needed!

y = 10 - x

So 10 - x = x + x + 11

0 = x + 2x + 1

0 = (x+1) (x+1)

x = -1

Substituting, y = 10 - (-1)

y = 11
